Game maker uses AI to cut work in half on prototypes

They used GPT-6 Astra, which is an artificial intelligence tool made by OpenAI (the company behind ChatGPT). Think of it as a smart assistant that understands game design. With this tool, Playco built three different themed game prototypes all starting from the same basic structure. The surprising part: they had to manually fix 50% fewer problems than when they used older AI tools.
What does this mean in real terms? When AI makes mistakes or incomplete work, someone has to go in and fix it by hand. Playco's results show that GPT-6 Astra made fewer mistakes from the start — which means less tedious work for the human designers. They could spend their time on creative decisions instead of fixing AI errors.
For the game industry, this is important. If AI can handle the repetitive, time-consuming parts of prototyping, game makers can test more ideas faster and cheaper. That could mean more games reaching players, or bigger teams tackling more ambitious projects. It's early still, but this is a sign that AI tools are becoming genuinely useful for creative work, not just for writing emails.
