Snap, the company behind the popular Snapchat app, is launching a new tool called Specs Intelligence. It's an AI assistant — basically a smart helper that understands what you're asking and tries to help you get things done.

Here's what makes it different from other AI assistants you might know: Specs Intelligence is designed to be "anticipatory." That means it doesn't just answer questions when you ask them. Instead, it learns what's important to you and reminds you about things that need your attention today. Think of it like having a personal assistant who knows your calendar, your work deadlines, and your travel plans all in one place. You can connect other apps and accounts to it — like your email or travel booking service — so it has a complete picture of what's going on in your life.

The tool is launching on iPhones and Mac computers today, and Snap is also releasing it alongside their new augmented reality glasses (special glasses that layer digital information on top of what you see in the real world). You can chat with Specs Intelligence just like you would with other AI assistants, asking it questions or asking it to help with tasks. Snap says this is meant to help you stay on top of what matters right now, so you can focus on bigger goals.

This puts Snap in direct competition with similar tools from other tech giants like Meta and Google, who've launched their own AI assistants with similar features.
